Born in Louisiana and raised in Southeast Texas she was brought up in Special Education throughout all her school years, many have said that there was no hope for her future including the specialist who diagnosed her. They even doubted that she would survive to be an adult but the report of the Lord has spoken otherwise! She wrote this book in Honor of her parents who we’re willing to sacrifice their own comfort to protect and provide for all her special needs. Susan left Texas in 1993 on a journey that changed her life, she married Linwood Smith who was a commercial fisherman passing through.

Their eyes met and it was love at first sight! This began their journey together on the road to a new life.  Ketchikan Alaska became their home. And like a trooper, in spite of their hardship, differences and crisis they stood and faced life straight on.

But, when she came to know Christ as her Lord and Savior she never dreamed that He had so much in store for her! He has given her beauty for ashes, treasure that are hidden and so much m o re!

And being a late bloomer she blossomed in God’s perfect timing. In her gratitude she expresses her thanks to all who loved her, cared for her and showed support throughout all her growth development challenges that she faced.  Now today, just like an eagle she is spreading her wings forth and learning to soar on wings of faith! The Lord has taken the wind of adversity and using it as a tool to lift her up above the cloud of her past. He has given her eagles eyes to see the vision that is in her future! Her life is the evidence that every child has a purpose for His G l o ry!
