The history of this book began almost immediately after the wounding of our beloved coastland by hurricane Katrina in August of 2005. Returning and spending a greater part of the day accessing the damage to our home, was a task I never expected to be called upon to do. It was like pressing “fast forward” on my old tape player, but unable to “rewind” to the comforts of yesterday, however Philippians 4:19 took on new meaning as help came from the disaster relief team from Meadowview Reformed Presbyterian Church of Lexington, N. C.

IN PRAISE OF SPRING Gracious Father, What a way to begin a day! Your daily blessings nourish my spirit. Sun strokes the horizon topping earths rim like a cherry on an ice cream cone. Springtime greens sparkle with dew drops. Songbirds sing a thousand songs. Squirrels scamper. Even the tiny lady beetle has her purpose. Thankful am I to find her in my garden. Butterflies, stars of the daylight hours give me hope. Daylilies at twilight seem to bow in a prayer of thanksgiving, for a brief, but beautiful life. Help me to see your hand in every expression of life. In Christ, Amen “O Lord, our Lord, How majestic is Thy name in all the earth, Who hast displayed Thy splendor above the heavens! O, Lord, our Lord, How majestic is Thy name in all the earth!” Psalm 8:1,9
