Born into Islam, author Showkat Alborzi was an inquisitive young girl who longed to know her creator, her purpose in this world, and the meaning of life. One evening, she looked up to the depth of the sky and called God to reveal the truth of life to her. In her amazement, God showed up! He revealed His love for her in the evening sky by showing her His heart, carved out of clouds. It was the first time Showkat felt God’s presence. God was love. This was beyond Islam.
In 1979, the Islamic revolution shook Iran and the country plunged into 7th century darkness. She fled to the United States. Years later, God revealed Himself again to her, this time through a poem about the abortion she had years ago. God brought to light her hidden secret and guilt. Although, Jesus was never more than a prophet for her, now she knew He was the true God and that He was ready to forgive her if only she was ready to be forgiven. That was the moment she believed.
This is the story of Showkat’s journey from the bondage of religion to the freedom of knowing God, from deception of Islam to the truth of Jesus. It is also an examination of crucial differences between Allah and YHWH, challenging Muslims to examine their beliefs, and offering a glimpse into a religion most Americans know little about, and its profound effect on our world.
p>Beloved Muslim brothers and sisters, especially those of you from Iran, I want to invite you and in fact, to challenge you to seek the truth. Don’t be afraid. Those who stop you from reading the Holy Bible or prohibit you from asking questions about Jesus (or even about your own religion) have a personal agenda; they want to keep you uninformed, captive, and under their control! The true God, however, wants you to be free. He wants you to hear His Word, to question it, and to discuss it with others. And most of all, He wants you to choose whom you believe in based on knowledge, understanding, and free will. God loves Iranian Muslims as much as He loves His chosen people of Israel. God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten son . . . —John 3:16 Christ is for the whole world, not just for the Jews, Americans, or other Westerners. After His resurrection, Jesus asked His disciples to go to the whole world and tell them about His good news of salvation! Go and make disciples of all nations . . . —Matthew 28:19 Islam has been hiding many profound and consequential truths from the Muslims that hide the ultimate truth of life—that Jesus Christ is the Lord and Savior of the world, and we cannot have salvation (amorzesh) without Him. Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved. —Acts 4:12 Whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life. —John 3:16 I pray that my testimony would invoke in you the fiery desire to seek, find, and know the true God for yourself. He has already promised that if we seek Him, we will find Him. This is not a maybe, not a “if you go to Mecca” or “if you observe the fasting and namaz rituals.” This is Almighty God’s promise to mankind! You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you,” declares the LORD, “and I will bring you back from captivity. —Jeremiah 29:11-14 Lord, thank You for bringing me back from captivity! —Showkat Alborzi

One of the best books I've ever read. The book was very informative and educating. It was an astonishing personal story as well. I highly recommend this book!
