He’s Just Waiting for the House to Get Full

God wants to use your “yes” to impact someone else’s “no.” The Lord revealed to me that whenever He does something in an individual’s life, He always does it with more than just that person in mind.

I remember one day feeling down and discouraged, due to the fact that my decision to obey God instantly made me a hot topic on my church’s gossiping circuit. People who didn’t understand what God was doing in my life began to talk negatively about me, and it was hurtful. However, God encouraged me and gave me His way of looking at the situation. He spoke to my spirit one day and said, “Kevin, hold on. I’m just waiting for the house to get full.”

This was what He revealed to me. Like an actor on a Broadway stage, when we obey God, He puts our lives on display. When a popular show comes to town, there’s a buzz in the city, and you are sure to find people everywhere talking about going to see it. When opening night arrives, just before the show starts, the lights are still up and you can hear the whisperings of those in the crowd greeting one another and trying to find their seats. Sometimes you’ll even hear the orchestra warming up in the orchestra pit, and because they’re not playing together, it may sound a little strange or out of key. It may even sound like confusion because so much is going on at the same time. However, when the lights go down, everything in the theatre grows silent because it’s time for the show to begin.

Whether you realize it or not, your decision to obey the voice of God has and is drawing many people to the new show in town called “your life.” So when it seems like you’re so close to the promise, but things still don’t make any sense, remember, the orchestra is just warming up. Rest assured that what seems out of key in your life now will moments later be playing in perfect harmony. God is going to take the pain of your past and use it to paint a masterpiece on the canvas of your tomorrow.

Just hold on a little bit longer. When you hear people talking about you, don’t get discouraged. Gossip is just proof that it’s going to be a packed house. You may not know this, but many of the people who opposed you going after your dreams did so because they, themselves, are afraid to do the same. However, if you don’t give up, if you persevere in spite of it all, what God does in your life will be so amazing it will even inspire your enemies to dream again. Remember, God is using your yes to impact someone else’s no, because He always blesses us with more than just us in mind.
