Carey R. Drake brings this sweet scenario to life with his new children’s book Safe and Sound. Inspired by his two-year-old daughter, Evie, Carey and his wife, Heather, imagined their child’s teddy bear patrolling Evie’s room while she sleeps. Carey put his artistic and writing skills to work and created a beautiful story that will bring to life a child’s imagination and help usher many into a sound, peaceful sleep.

Join Teddy as he spends the night patrolling the bedroom, investigating every shadow, checking out every sound and making sure all is well, as long as he is around.

Carey R. Drake has always loved bringing stories and images to life through writing and drawing. With the inspiration of his two-year-old daughter, Evie, and the imagination of his wife, Heather, Carey has used his gifts as a writer and illustrator to create the sweet children’s book, Safe and Sound. This collaborative family effort was brought about by Evie’s daily routine of putting her teddy bear down for a “nap” after she woke up. After observing this behavior, Heather imagined a setting where the teddy bear would spend his nights patrolling Evie’s bedroom while she slept. And a story was born.

In addition to writing, Carey is also an illustrator and graphic designer at Crazy Native Graphic Arts in Georgia.
