There is relief from life’s stress—from the smallest to the largest. This relief comes only from God and not from anything in this world. Often we ask God why something happened or why something failed to happen. Life’s occurrences often don’t seem fair.
Why does a God of love and peace allow bad things to happen to his people, or to anyone for that matter? How do you survive turmoil and stress? If we allow God to be in control he will show us not only how to have peace in the midst of trouble but also why he allowed the problem to happen in the first place. With God in control, your life will be amazing and never the same.
This book was written to share with you how you can have God’s peace in your life.

As you swim through the swamps of life, sometimes it feels like you’ve got alligators chomping at your toes. It is during these tough times when we need to remember that God is still in control and that He will help lift us out of the murky waters threatening to pull us under. It’s Hard to Drain the Swamp When Yer up to Yer Ears in Alligators is the story of pastor’s wife Rockie Sue Fordham. Rockie has had her share of trials and tough times. She has felt the weight of despair in difficulty, and yet, she has prevailed, through the power of Christ. Rockie shares her belief that no matter what happens—good or bad—God is in control, and “all things work together for good for them that love the Lord.” It’s Hard to Drain the Swamp When Yer up to Yer Ears in Alligators is not a book about discouragement but one that seeks to encourage. Rockie’s stories deal with the real, difficult issues of human life in a comical and unthreatening manner, teaching that laughter always outweighs the tears. The book reaches out to the reader, willing you to keep on swimming. Keep on fighting sadness, sin, and anguish, because the Lord is victorious, and He will carry us all to shore.

How do you respond when life takes an unexpected turn—when tragedy strikes? You find yourself facing a heartbreak that is beyond the sight of recovery. Your life has been rocked. Using parallels from the book of Job and drawing from his own life experience, author Joe Champion tackles the tough questions that arise when circumstances make it seem as if life is spinning out of control. Rocked is about real stories, real people, and real pain. God has clear guidelines for us to follow, a love that is impossible to ignore, and the strength to not only get us through the difficult times but lead us out with victory. Using straightforward points and candid stories, Champion reveals both practical and spiritual ways to overcome any tragic situation and connect to the real hope and power of the Word of God. Rocked is a deep look into the heart of man and the heart of God. Ageless questions about bad things happening to good people can never be answered without looking into the character of the Lord. He loves unconditionally and can comfort us when we are in pain. Rocked takes scripture, breaks it down, and gives us insight into God’s heart.

By Jesus E. Mendoza
From the day his sister mocked him for not being able to read and write, Jesus E. Mendoza was determined to better himself. Turned away by numerous overcrowded schools reluctant to accept a ten-year-old into first grade, he finally persuaded a teacher to take a chance on him and let him sit on the floor at the back of her classroom. Within two months, Mendoza had learned to read and write. That same determination has carried Mendoza from an impoverished childhood in Mexico to a successful life in Texas as a businessman, husband, and father. Through it all, his faith in God has sustained him. From shining shoes as a six-year-old, supplementing the family income, to picking strawberries so that he could save for a bicycle, Mendoza has learned about the value of hard work and the importance of setting personal and financial goals. Rather than dismissing daydreams, he shows us how powerful they can be when combined with prayer, perseverance, and a commitment to living a Christian life. Let Jesus E. Mendoza’s story inspire you—no matter your life circumstances—to nourish your dreams and not lose sight of your goals. Not yet fifty years old, he has overcome numerous obstacles and continues to help others through his church and his business ventures. By his example you’ll see that with God’s help, it is never too late to learn, to start something new, and to make positive changes in your life.

How do we get to heaven? That is a universal question that roams through the human mind when considering their eternal destiny. While most religions offer speculation or theories regarding that query, Jesus Christ offers a radical response found in John 14:6 stating that no one has access to God or heaven except through Him. How do we respond to such a bold proclamation? Is Jesus Christ the only way? Or is He one of many great leaders that can help usher mankind into true spirituality? While John 14:6 is singlehandedly the most controversial verse found in scripture, it provides us with a straightforward yet profound answer to one of life’s most sought after questions. And if we believe what Jesus said, how do we respond? With keen discernment and thoughtful detail, Dr. Ken Hemphill seeks to shed some light on this controversial verse by focusing on the insightful I AM statements found in the book of John. By carefully examining these radical words, the information presented will help you decide whether Jesus’ profound claim is true or not. Do you find yourself questioning if Jesus’ ancient claim has any relevance to our contemporary culture? Does it have any impact upon our eternal destination? Is Jesus really the only way? If you find yourself struggling with questions like these, Dr. Hemphill’s I AM will be a valuable resource to discovering those answers.

"Jack Shaw's book, Little by Little, is a must-read. In the vein of Will Rogers, it is a book full of wit, wisdom, and sage advice for all who would follow God's design for a godly life, a successful life, and a joyful life. In this book, you will find a large number of wise and practical lessons that help people avoid some of the pitfalls of life while at the same time enjoying some aspects of life that others find mundane. I commend this book to you without hesitation. It is one of those books that is truly refreshing, and at the same time smacks of 'I wish I had said it that way' bits of advice. Because of my personal knowledge of the author, I can attest to the authenticity' of this'writing. I believe it will touch many lives in the days ahead." Dr. Frank S. Page, Pastor Taylors First Baptist Church Taylors, South Carolina Former President, Southern Baptist Convention

Do you ever doubt your faith in God, because you never had that one defining “salvation moment” that other Christians talk about—you know, the one where you drop to your knees, plead to be saved, then receive a feeling, vision, or some other heavenly sign of confirmation? This is exactly how author Mark McKinney felt, until he faced the daunting task of going public with his Christian testimony. Enter: the sticky note. Over the last several decades, the sticky note has become a hallmark of modern life. Reminders, schedules, even love notes have been relegated to these small paper squares, which we tack onto the computer monitor, the refrigerator, or the dashboard. Little do we know that in posting them, we leave veritable paper trails—mini-documentaries of what we do, what is important to us, and what defines us as people. In Faith on a Sticky Note, McKinney uses this idea to relay how he discovered his faith, tracking down the “spiritual sticky notes” of his life, then piecing them together like a puzzle. “I never had my moment . . .” he writes. “I had many moments.” Through heartwarming, personal accounts of his father’s alcoholism and eventual death, McKinney reminds us that faith, like life, is not made in a single defining moment, but rather in everyday situations attuned to God’s perfect timing.

September 25, 1968, is a day Larry Small will never forget. It was the day his life was forever altered and the day he nearly died as a young Marine in the junges of Vietnam. 30 years later, in 1998, he returned to Vietnam again, but this time he was representing a different leader....
If I had read the story of Larry Small’s life without knowing him, I might have concluded that the script was written by a talented author with a flair for irony, drama, and sentimentalism. Fact, however, can be stranger than fiction. As improbable as Larry’s story might seem, its reality reflects the redemptive power of God and provides an inspiration to anyone willing to listen.

Words from the Heart of a Warrior A Writer's Special Mission Through Life's Many Battlefields By Lee Eppler So much of my life has been centered around keeping the AC-130U Gunship’s guns operational so that lethal rounds can hit a target objective to provide safety to those brave Special Forces members on the ground. In my career as well as my faith, I am called to give a special touch from above. What you’re about to read is a display of God’s gracefulness in print. Even during combat missions on one of the most deadly aircraft platforms, I have felt the calmness of God’s peace and protection. This book is not about the over 1200 combat hours that I have had an honor and privilege to fly or the twenty-nine medals and awards that are affixed to my United States Air Force uniform. This book originates from my youth through to my adulthood to become a man whose awareness of the world was altered by the gentle persuading hand of God. There is a scripture verse that reads “Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.” (1 Cor. 2:9). This verse sums up my daily walk with Jesus Christ, for each step has been and continues to make me thirsty for the next step that He has for me to live. Above the battlefield, as well as in life, I am reassured that He will never leave me or forsake me. (Hebrews 13:5). I have organized this book into three chapters. Within these chapters you will encounter my hopes, dreams, thoughts, compassion, and love for my wife and family, and my love for you. Each page holds a challenging view of the world, Christianity, family, and in living a life pleasing to the One who has made it all happen. While you read, the words will take you on journeys towards a closer understanding of who we are in the Kingdom of G o d < / u 1 : P l aceName> and who we are during this time of Jesus Christ’s imminent return. I have not added a great deal of scripture on each page to explain the views of my heart, for I wanted to reach the heart and not the knowledge of the reader. Scripture verses are located at the end of the book as a reference. Being an ordained Deacon since 1992, does not qualify me, nor anyone else to place their spin on God’s Holy Word to meet or fulfill their desires to sway the masses. I have left that for the Holy Spirit to accomplish. My hope is that you will read what is written from a nonjudgmental attitude so that you may receive the meaning that God has wanted to impart to you. I would be remiss if I didn’t share the inspirations to the poems and stories I have included in this book. These inspirations are the Father, Christ Jesus, and the Holy Spirit, three in one Holy Deity. Without the Holy Spirit tugging on my heartstrings, Jesus’ sacrificial love and God’s continuous hand upon my life I would have never placed these words on paper. If you don’t have a personal relationship with the Lord, I hope that you will open your mind’s eye and heart to what you are about to read. I am honored to have this opportunity to share with you and I hope you will one day meet me under shade of the tree of life. When you’re finished reading I trust you will have a firm realization that we are living in the last days, which the need for spreading God’s love is most gratifyingly vital. Our time on this earth is so temporal that if we were to blink, a lifetime could pass us by. So grasp the refreshing tidbits that will assist you to form a lasting impression of God’s love in all to see and feel. I am no different than you, we are on this world together. We breathe the same air, and I hope have the same destiny after we pass-on.

Imagine being one of Jesus’s disciples on the Friday He was crucified. Imagine their pain, horror, and despair. How did they survive the worst day of their lives? How does a mother keep her faith as she holds her bedridden child’s hand while the days turn into weeks and the weeks into months? How does an out-of-work man stay strong when it seems like every single job in the world is filled but the bills keep coming? All of us find ourselves in the waiting room of life at some point, wondering how we are going to live through a loss—of our health, of a loved one, of a job, of our marriage. What About Saturday? looks at the day between the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus, the time between tragedy and triumph. Although we spend a lot of our lives in “Saturday,” reeling in shock and waiting desperately for a resurrection experience, we can use this time to learn and grow. The Bible does not tell us much about that Saturday. In fact, there are only two direct references to it, for a total of seven verses. But those seven verses, when viewed with other verses throughout the Bible, hold a great deal of wisdom and a tremendous amount of healing and hope. Here you will find a close examination of those passages and discover how you can use your Saturdays to grow even closer to God and learn about His will for you.
