Mankind always waits until they have nothing else they can do to give time to their surroundings. The life of man has and seems to always be the fault of someone else. From the beginning, he has not given consideration to anything but himself until the fall—and this is where God comes in. He had dominion and could not see that he had the powerand rule over every little creature, even over the serpent. Not until he is crossed over by his own mistakes will he identify that God is in charge. God has given us rule, and we blame everyone else for not accomplishing the task given to us by Him. If it’s not the wife, it’s the children, the job, the lack of money, or the lack of opportunity—just to name a few things. When are we going to admit it? We are the problem. We serve a merciful God, and He cares for us more than we can describe or imagine.

By Paul Kalbach

There is a small groundswell of thinking in the evangelical church that we may not have achieved a proper biblical understanding of end-times events. It is important for us to return to a careful study of these things, because the time is near.

In The Sign of the End of the Age: What Jesus Taught about the Future in Matthew 24, author Paul Kalbach helps you discover—or rediscover—the Olivet Discourse, the Lord’s clear road map that all other prophetic Scriptures must reckon with. To understand the discourse, we must answer one critical question: what is Matthew 24 about—the future program for Israel or the end of the age events for all believers, including the church? Kalbach presents extensive arguments that show a different timing and sequence of events than is usually taught by proponents of the pretribulation rapture position. His in-depth study adheres to a most literal interpretation method.

The Sign of the End of the Age seeks to bring a deeper understanding of the end-times period, vital in a world that shows every sign that this time is near.

3:16 through the Bible presents a journey through the whole Bible, considering the sixteenth verse of the third chapter in each book. Through this creative sampling of God’s Word, author Yunhee Kim Flakes uncovers how these verses reveal the true nature of God and share with His people how they may come to know Him and follow His Son, Jesus Christ. Each chapter begins by quoting the selected verse from one of the Bible’s books. The explanation then places that verse in the context of the book in which it appears. Next, the chapter offers guidance for understanding the message God shares through the selected verse and its book. Finally, each chapter concludes by pointing the reader to the next stop on the journey through the Bible. If you have felt your life would be richer and fuller if you became more deeply acquainted with God and if you knew more about His message in the Bible, then this study can provide you with the guidance you need to discern God’s handiwork in His Word and to appreciate how He offers to work in your life through Jesus Christ, His Son.

A new way to review all key themes in Scripture is now available through Dr. Yuni Flakes’ book, 3:16s Through the Bible. In this innovative work, she notes that John 3:16 provides a magnificent summary of God’s plan for man. Responding to an impression by the Holy Spirit, she reviewed all other 3:16s in the Bible to see if they, too, might be wonderful summaries of the books wherein they are found. To her amazement, they were! In this book, Dr. Flakes lists all the 3:16s in the Bible, with a few pages of commentary discussing how each 3:16 captures the movement of God for that particular piece of spiritual history. It is an excellent overview of God’s dealings with man from Genesis to Revelation. You will come away from this book with a greater understanding of how God has related to mankind and how mankind has responded to God throughout the last 3000 years. —Mark Virkler, president of Christian Leadership University

When we were children in the Oklahoma hills, one of our pastimes was to pick the petals from a sunflower bloom or a daisy, while saying with each petal, “She loves me, she loves me not.” Thankfully, we don’t have to do those kinds of things to determine whether or not God loves us, because there is a way of knowing. That is through the knowledge gained by experiencing a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, His Son. How can we know? How can we confirm our experience in Christ? There are some ways we can know. Hopefully, some of these can be revealed in this attempt to describe a Christian Experience. During my more than fifty years in the ministry, I have heard many say they were not sure if they were saved, and I have seen others who claimed to be born again but denied it by their behavior. John makes it very clear in his writings, in chapter five, verse twelve. He just simply says if you have Christ, you’re saved; if you don’t, you aren’t.

Are you saved? Are you certain?

By Stephen R. Clark

Every pastor and church leader has read, reread, memorized, and agonized over Matthew 28:19–20, the verses spelling out the Lord’s Great Commission. But how do you make a disciple, what defines a disciple, and how do you know when the commission has been fulfilled?

This guide offers a way to measure discipleship. A biblically based, quantifiable discipleship plan for every church fellowship, The Plan reveals how it is possible to have a ministry without guilt that accomplishes the most basic command of the Lord. This plan produces powerful results and eliminates the condemnation every church leader feels.

Pastor Stephen R. Clark examines what it means to become a disciple of Jesus. Using personal examples as well as passages of Scripture, he discusses the reasons that disciples are needed in the church, the ministry they should implement, the cost—both spiritual and emotional—of being a disciple, and the incredible rewards it brings. In addition, he reveals the two main components of the plan that must be present for it to work: comprehension and compliance.

It’s time for all church leaders to embrace the Great Commission with love, joy, and hope. Let The Plan show you how.

By Nancy E. Alexander
This collection presents a series of inspired analogies and truths depicting the redeeming and sustaining power of God that were divinely given to an ordinary believer. Following a spiritual awakening at the altar in the 1970s, author Nancy E. Alexander began the daily devotion of journaling her thoughts, ideas, and spiritual musings about her relationship with God and the world around her. Inspired by the Holy Spirit, the words and thoughts came freely in response to daily Bible study. In time, the thoughts waned, and the collection was shelved. Now, forty years later, Alexander revisits those writings and finds fresh and unexpected meaning. In A Walk in the Garden, she presents an inspired collection of analogies and truths depicting the redeeming and sustaining power of God. Revealing a forty-year spiritual journey, the entries ponder an array of thoughts—forgiveness, acceptance, renewal, grace, the idea of eternity, and miracles. A Walk in the Garden presents a collection of writings that help you reflect on your own walk with God. It communicates the message that God calls to you and seeks you out each day.

“If there were nothing else to record, history will surely serenade Ralph Cox for an unprecedented half century of missionary service in Japan! Cox was an innovator. He was one of the first to see the potential in short term missionaries. He maximized the potential, minimized the hazards of that approach, recruiting dozens of long-term missionaries from his short-term co-workers.”
- Robertson McQuilkin, President Emeritus, Columbia International University
and TEAM colleague of Ralph Cox, 1956 – 1968

“Ralph was an identity maker. His leadership was marked by his concern to be as close to the Word as possible. His leadership was also marked by his concern for each individual. Ralph influenced the church of Japan. It was a great privilege to know Ralph. I’m so thankful for the identity that he left in me, in TEAM and in the church of Japan.”
- Tom Sloan, Former Chairman,  The Evangelical Alliance Mission, Japan Field Mission

“The ministry of Ralph and Stella is so helpful and challenging as it points the way as to what we are to do and what God will do! Stella used her Gospel cooking classes to reach out to ladies. Ralph trained individuals to pastor and plant churches, and to go to other countries as missionaries! Ralph and Stella are a great model of how to accomplish our mission-- don’t miss this one! What a privilege it has been for our church to support them.”

We were baptized in Jesus’ name, not anyone else’s. Let us all resolve to be simply Christians, disciples of Jesus Christ. If unity among believers was so important to Jesus, how can we not make the effort to maintain the unity He made possible by His death on the cross?

Miracle at the Garage tells a present-day tale of hope, wonder, amazement, grace, love, and faith. God is here with us today, in our struggles, in our pain, in our love, and in our fame. This memoir offers a look into the lives of a few individuals with two common bonds—their love for Christ and their connection through the Garage, a men’s ministry. It describes the miracles that have transformed them into the loving, strong, God-fearing, and courageous men they have become through God’s love.

Each figure in Miracle at the Garage has his own unique story, including author Andrew Elliott, who overcame alcoholism through the power of God’s love; Anthony, the spiritual leader of the group who overcame a life of drugs to come back to God; and John, who is in a car accident with Anthony’s wife and miraculously walks into the Garage—where he finds forgiveness. All of the people who share their personal stories here are part of the Garage ministry that serves as the backdrop for this inspirational collection. Incredibly, some of the miracles actually occurred at the Garage itself.

The personal reflections shared here can renew your faith in the miracle of God’s love and remind you that there is also hope, grace, and wonder in that faith.

We are all called; but few are chosen.  Listen and let God lead you in the way you should serve him.  Are you ready to jump in and start serving God but do not know where to begin?  God has a plan for you here on earth no matter where you live. This is what author, Elizabeth O’Neill, shares in her book.  A small seed was planted in her heart and it grew into a full time ministry; serving people with food, clothing and shelter.  Has God been calling you into ministry?  Don’t know where to start?
O’Neill explains that we have nothing to fear when we trust God and let him take the wheel.  “How to do ministry in your own backyard,” is a step by step guide to help you unfold God’s vision in your life.  We need not be “experts” to do God’s work.  Never doubt what a small group of dedicated Christians can do for God.  Christ will prepare the way.  Trust him and watch as his amazing plan unfolds.
This book will help you start serving those in need in your community right now.  Churches, community groups, children and individuals joined the O’Neill family to do his work in the rural village of Cattaraugus, New York.  God brought the people and resources.  Obey God and you will see his fruit grow.
O’Neill is the director of “Saving Grace Outreach,” in Cattaraugus, New York.  She has worked in ministry for the past eight years continuing to let God direct her path.  Elizabeth O’Neill lives in East Otto, New York with her husband Chris, daughter Caitlin, and sons Sean, and Shane.  She also has two grown daughters, Kelly and Meagan O’Neill.
Be ready to stand in the gap and let God work through you!
