By Robert W. Foster
Michael was born blind. He spent his days begging for money—until a strange man approached him one day. The strange man gave him his sight—and then was gone. The Pharisees threw a fit. They wanted to know the identity of this man and what right he had to heal in the name of God. Michael would later discover the man in question had been executed, which made Michael wonder. With his newly regained sense, Michael goes on a long journey to discover other people touched by this magical man. He searches for a man named Lazarus, who they say was raised from the dead. He reaches out to the lepers, in search of those also healed by Michael’s healer. He seeks Zacchaeus, a tax collector who changed his unruly ways. They are strangers spread across a country, and yet they have one man in common: Jesus. Based on a story in chapter nine of the gospel of John, Michael’s Eyes is one man’s journey to discover his savior, even after his savior has been crucified and raised to heaven. Michael continually asks, “Why?” Why was this man Jesus rejected and executed? Why was he punished for healing the sick? And how can Michael use his blessed gift of sight to help others in need, in the name of the Lord?

Cardinal Baptista never thought he would witness the coming of the Antichrist-- the ‘’seabeast.’’ Yet, his interpretation of the book of Revelation indicated that the hierarchy of the Catholic Church would become a diabolical matrix. Furthermore, that biblical text suggested that the Israeli Prime Minister was the complicitous ‘landbeast.’’ Those two beasts, coupled with Satan-- the ‘’Dragon’’-- comprised the Unholy trinity. Who would believe this explanation? At the Papal inauguration, Cardinal Baptista compulsively committed a heinous crime which unwittingly fulfilled Revelation. Immediately, he was secretly imprisoned within the Tower of a secluded Vatican-owned villa just outside Rome. & n b s p ; & nbsp; The sequestered Cardinal was tormented by haunting memories from the last forty-two months pertaining to predictions from Revelation: an ineffective Papal Encyclical, seven calamities and a double murder in Jerusalem of ‘’two witnesses’’ to God. Other ominous events from that apocalyptic scripture occurred during his imprisonment: seven more disasters; forty-two months of thaumaturgical cures; construction of Jerusalem’s third Temple; appearance of the ‘’abomination of desolation’’ within that Temple; invasion of Israel by ‘’Gog’’ and the relationship of ‘’Armageddon’’ to Jerusalem-Israel. The Unforgivable Sin is a suspenseful and credible adaptation of the entire book of Revelation. Additional startling disclosures, biblically referenced, pertained to the bizarre origin and actual religion of the impious Antichrist. Can evil incarnate be defeated? In a cataclysmic world, Baptista optimistically awaits a new beginning-- the ‘’millennium.’’ This electrifying novel uniquely combines intelligible scripture, plausible fiction and verifiable scientific facts.

Sleepy Shoes is an exciting adventure which journeys into the world of the shoes who live in Hannah-Beth's closet. Each shoe explores active adventures in their respective genres. Each shoe, that is, except Sleepy Shoes. Sleepy Shoes are a pair of soft, fuzzy, and warm slippers who chose to spend their days lying around doing nothing but sleeping. All of the other shoes petition their friends to join them in their grand adventures, but they are all saddened at the lack of active choices displayed by these fuzzy slippers. We are allowed to witness the active adventures of the shoes and to revel in their positive consequences for their strong and active choices. For example, Ballet asks Sleepy Shoes to join her on a dancing adventure. She chooses to continue her adventure without Sleepy Shoes when they simply lie there and sleep, sleep, sleep, giving her no verbal responses and no feedback for her choice of active behavior. On her adventure, Ballet is inundated with accolades and floral gifts as she twirls, whirls, wiggles, and giggles during her dance recital. Thus it is with each shoe who approaches Sleepy Shoes with the promise of active adventures. Each shoe is met with the same nonresponsive and slothful attitude from their friends. And, each friend makes the decision to continue their adventure without Sleepy Shoes. Through their adventures, we are reminded that life is a series of choices and the benefits of active choices will shine in a life blessed.
